Description
This is a rare sealed original mono pressing of the third LP by the Yardbirds, Over Under Sideways Down, on Epic Records. The title track is considered one of the early seminal tracks in the psychedelic genre. Although the LP cover is not sheathed in shrink wrap, the LP itself is un played sealed in a plastic bag.
Beginning as one of rock's all-time great (and influential) blues-rock bands, the Yardbirds had taken a turn toward the psychedelic side of things once Jeff Beck replaced Eric Clapton, as evidenced by 1966 LP Over Under Sideways Down. For anyone who was wondering if Beck could truly fill in for Clapton, he was silenced by the playful "Jeff's Boogie," which shows the guitarist was one of the more technically proficient blues-rock players of the time, as well as lending a gloriously Middle Eastern riff to the trippy title track.
The cover is solid and very clean which is usually not the case with this record cover as so much of the area of the cover is white. Three of the corners are very slightly crimped with the top right corner at the mouth being very sharp. There is a slight cutout hole in the top back cover near the mouth, as well as on the front cover in the upper left hand corner. There is also appear to be several small staple holes in the same area in the top front left hand corner near the cut out hole. The seams are solid on the cover all the way around with no visible wear, with the product lettering on the spine clear with no flaking whatsoever.
The LP is being sold without reserve and payment is expected within 3 days of auction close. Return of the LP will only be accepted if the LP is returned still sealed.
