The Zombies - Begin Here (Decca 1965, UK mono 1st)
Copies of The Zombies' first album on Decca from 1965 are extremely hard to find these days. Many classic albums in the Sixties sold very few copies as the pop market was all about singles, and albums really weren't promoted by record companies with any seriousness until 67/68 onwards.
So here's your big chance to land a UK first mono pressing of The Zombies debut album for considerably less than the £500 mark many can reach these days. It's not a perfect copy, but for an album almost 60 years old, it has plenty to commend it.
The vinyl retains its gloss and while there are inevitably some hairlines and minor marks, there are NO feelable scuffs or scratches. It plays through well and the music is loud and crisp. There is some low level surface noise but the music powers over it. VG to VG+.
The laminate on the sleeve has lifted in places on the front cover plus some creasing, and there is grubbiness and ringwear to the back, feathering to the opening edge. No writing, tears, seam splits or other damage. Good+ to VG.
Excellent red and silver Decca labels, with just some minor spindle wear. No fading to the text. No writing. No damage. Excellent.
