A cornerstone of any jazz collection! Volume 1 of the two-volume Genius of Modern Music set comprises the historic first sessions Thelonious Monk recorded as a bandleader, on October 15 and 24 and November 21 of 1947. A singular and wonderfully off-kilter artist from day one, Genius Of Modern Music Volume 1 includes such classic Monk fare as "Round About Midnight," "Off Minor," "Ruby My Dear," "Thelonious" and "Well You Needn’t" among others.
Playing this record is recommended on a high quality record player with anti-skate features. Other things you can try to help with skipping if you can’t adjust the anti-skate: Make sure your record plathe is perfectly flat - use a level tool to check it If you can’t get it flat simply by placement, try putting index cards beneath the feet of the turntable to adjust.

Excellent (EX): Very close to NM in condition but will have very slight signs of use. Any surface marks on the record will not affect playback. Cover may have very slight edge and corner wear.
