Thelonious Monk and Sonny Rollins (PRLP 7075)
Prestige HiFi LP 7075. Made in USA, 1956.
Rare first label and outstanding audiophile mono sound!

Condition: Record
Side A: VG++ (sound) VG+ (visual). Strong sound the whole way through. Occasional popping and hissing, most noticeably in one Monk solo during track two. Still, great sound with very few instances of popping or hissing. No skips, jumps, or clicks. The very thick, deep groove vinyl still has unmatchable quality.
Side B: VG+ (sound) VG+ (visual). About the same as Side A, except: Hissing and pops are somewhat more noticeable, particularly in the first minute and a half. Also, track two of this side has two points when there is clicking, the first lasting about 35 seconds, the second about 15 seconds.
*Overall, the sound is great throughout. The only "major" problem is the clicking on side two, track two. Plenty of luster in the vinyl, and a VPI cleaning would probably further improve the visual and sound grade of this record.
Label: EX. No writing or marks on either side. Original "fireworks" label in bright yellow and black, no loss of color.
Condition: Jacket and record sleeve
Jacket: VG. Pictures tell most of the story. As you can tell, both the front and back covers have accumulated some dirt and dust. But, the cover art has retained its original bright coloration, and the backside liner notes are very readable. The cover is split at the top halfway across. Bottom is barely split, about one inch. Corners have more wear than the rest of the jacket. Side seam intact.
Sleeve: Replacement record sleeve.
Provenance: Former radio station copy. (Back cover has a stamp, reading: "Jackson Radio & TV).
