Description
Up for auction is a beautiful copy of Thin Lizzy's Vagabonds of the Western World. This is a promo copy with the hole cut in the upper right hand corner of the jacket and the Promotional Copy sticker just below as seen in the picture. The inner jacket is included.
What makes this particular example so interesting and unique is the inclusion of a letter from Creative Management Associates' Bob Caviano to Jet Set Enterprises promoter, Sydney Drashin. Some 18 years later, in 1992, Bob Caviano, by then a veteran talent agent and Grace Jones' manager, founded the music industry AIDS relief organization LIFEbeat. He would die of AIDS-related causes on September 22nd of that year. In essence, the letter attempts to introduce Thin Lizzy to the U.S. market. This letter predates the huge success that Thin Lizzy would enjoy and would be an awesome addition to any collection.
I have had this album in my collection for nearly 30 years and have never played it and always had it in a plastic sleeve. I'm not sure there is a nicer copy out there and although I am not a dealer, I would say that the vinyl is near mint and I would characterize the cover as exceptional with only slight scuffing along the edges, and again, with the hole and sticker.
