Description
Health issues dictate that I begin to part with some of my favourite items. Up for your consideration is "I'm Five Years Ahead of My Time"/"Rainbow Life" by the Third Bardo.
I use Goldmine grading, but so much is subjective when it comes to moving from one grade to another. This disc shows all the signs of VG++. Beautiful luster, no scratches, and scuff marks covering less than 15% of the disc (FAR LESS). However, there are two "buts" to mention. The label is perfect on both sides, except for the radio marks on the A-side. The B-side is free of any markings. No label tears. No flaking. The other "but" is surface noise. Now, granted that my hearing isn't what it used to be, and given the tambourine and other percussion, plus the high frequency organ and guitar work, I can't hear any noise during playback. However, you can hear it on the lead-in and lead-out dead wax. So it may be there, and ye of the golden ear might hear something that I cannot. So if you factor all that in, you can make the argument that the record only grades VG+.
