Over the next several months we have the pleasure of listing a spectacular vinyl collection of over 6000 LP's. This collection consisting of mostly Jazz but also Blues, Folk ,Rock, Soundtracks and Classical was kept in amazing condition. Most of the records were played once, transferred to tape for listening and then stored away in cliplock sealed bags in specially made cupboards. The overall condition of this collection is sublime to say the least and whatever items I list as Near Mint you can be assured that it was probaly only ever played once!! Over the last few weeks you may have noticed some of the lovely jazz & rock titles I have listed, these are just the tip of the iceberg here. I hope you enjoy seeing these listings as much as I have in offering them.
Roman Polanski’s MacBeth is a dark film, even considering the source material. The first movie he made after his pregnant wife, Sharon Tate, suffered her fate at the hands of the Manson Family, MacBeth is a bloody affair. Polanski’s Scotland is dark, muddy, foggy, rainy, and cold. The film bears the faded look of old Hipgnosis album covers a bit like Zeffirelli’s Romeo and Juliet that preceded it. But unlike that touching romantic tragedy, Polanski’s MacBeth fully embraced it’s cursed and grisly history. The choice of Third Ear Band as composers for the soundtrack of Macbeth was a stroke of genius. An equally inspired choice of soundtrack composer wouldn’t be made again until Clive Barker would choose COIL to compose the soundtrack for the first Hellraiser film. However, COIL was later to be removed from the film as their sounds were considered too disturbing by Hollywood business types. Third Ear Band’s sounds can be equally disturbing, using different instrumentation, but achieving similar results – yet their compositions remain in Polanski’s MacBeth - and it’s a better film for these sounds. Often relegated to the “progressive rock” genre, Third Ear Band are so much more than that. Somewhere between folk ragas, chamber music, and free jazz played on medieval-sounding acoustic instruments – Third Ear Band’s instrumental excursions are timeless, placeless, yin-yang blends of darkness and light. A combination of musical experimentalism and pleasurable listening that isn’t easily achieved.

There are a few light spindle marks on labels. Records has some light scuff marks that cause a few light crackles and is in Excellent condition. Cover has light ring wear and is in Excellent condition.
Payment is accepted by Paypal. Within Australia we also accept Direct deposit transfer and Australia Post Money Orders.
Wrapping method: All records are sent in stiff cardboard mailers then wrapped in brown paper and sealed around edges with brown packaging tape. Records are taken out of sleeve to avoid seam splits and ring wear.
Post methods within Australia: All records are posted via Australia Post. Within Australia all items come with a tracking number.
Post method for overseas: All parcels are sent via Australia Post and are sent on a standard airmail service. There are no tracking numbers on these items. If you require a tracking number the item will have to be sent as an insured item which incurs a further postage fee.
