Walt Dickerson "This Is Walt Dickerson!" 1961

RARE Prestige / New Jazz Records (NJLP 8254), Mono, DG, RVG

Vibraphonist Walter Dickerson's first full-length, This Is Walt Dickerson!, launched this artist's five-year tenure with the Prestige label in the early sixties.  On this record, as on his other Prestige releases, Dickerson performs with a quartet, including: Austin Crowe, piano; Bob Lewis, bass; and Andrew Cyrille, drums.  Purple, "deep groove" center label (indicating a New Jazz release); "RVG" stamped on the dead wax.  This record is in VG+ condition, with a small number of hairline scratches and scuffs on the vinyl; expect some very light surface noise on playback.  The cover is in excellent condition, EXCEPT for that the top seam of the outer sleeve is beginning to split.
