Description

I was told that the thing about trying to sell a Duke Ellington album is, everybody already has at least one in their collection.  Well, if you have one then you already know, one is not enough.  If you hear the Duke once, you absolutely must hear him again.  What's extraordinary about this particular album is, Duke is in his prime.  Having started out as a band leader in the 1920's and now here he is, cool as ever on December 5, 1973 playing tunes with only Ray Brown on bass to accompany him.  Perrenial favorites such as Do Nothin' Till You Hear From Me, Sohisticated Lady and See See Rider on one side with a Fragmented Site for Piano and Bass, Movements First through Fourth the question now becomes...  how can you not have this album in your collection.  Produced by Norman Granz for Pablo records at United Recording, Las Vegas, Nevada, this is it.
