Description
THE BEATLES - Please Please Me - Unusual South African Pressing (Features dual Parlophone & EMI box logo's on the sleeve)
**** I COULD NOT LOCATE A COPY OF THIS SLEEVE, FEATURING BOTH PARLOPHONE & EMI LOGO'S SIDE BY SIDE ANYWHERE ONLINE ****
By 1966, 'Please Please Me' was a slow seller in South Africa. By this time the sleeve logo had changed to a side by side logo (Parlophone & EMI). It is situated at the top right of the front of the sleeve & the bottom left on the back of the sleeve - highly unusual if compared with the vast amount of different pressings of this album. It also has a thumb tab on the opening at the back of the sleeve. *** This sleeve is not often seen ***. The label on the record itself is the new style used from late 1965 to 1968 - the original release on the old style label and "pressed in S.A. . . ." rim print is WAY more common, making this somewhat of a special rarity. If you are considering bidding on this, do an online search first to see whether you can find any trace of this actual sleeve (featuring both logo's side by side). I can almost guarantee you won't - I have hunted for some time now to no avail.
If you are a serious Beatles collector - and particularly a collector of the various pressings of 'Please Please Me', you may not have this copy in your collection.
A beautiful copy all 'round!
