By the time this record was made, Ray wylie Hubbard had left Three Faces West to start his own band, The Cowboy Twinkies. Ray's replacement was Steve Howard on electric & bottleneck guitar. Recorded live at "The Outpost" in Red River, New Mexico, September 1st 1974, The Outpost was a safe bet. The group had a played there for years and could almost be called the house band. If you were going to make a live album, this was the place to do it. If Austin gained the reputation of being the capital of the Cosmic Cowboy movement, Red River New Mexico could be considered the kindergarden where future legends cut their teeth (think of it like Hamburg to the Beatles). Apart from Ray Wylie Hubbard, Steve Fromholz, Michael Murphey, Bill & Bonnie Hearne, were all familiar names to the local New Mexicans long before Texas claimed them. This record, like the first is a self financed record, they didn't even give the lable a name and no matter how hard you play with the catalogue #, it remains a mystery.
