About Our Record Grading
Our records are cleaned with the Spin Clean Record Washing System and then given at least a brief test listen, with focus on any potential problem areas, in additon to a visual grading. If a record's quality is such that we couldn't enjoy listening to it, it will not be listed.
Cover Grading
Near Mint: Cover will be nearly perfect, with only the slightest signs of wear.
Very Good ++: Cover may have slight signs of wear also and may be marred by a cut-out hole, indentation or corner indicating it was taken out of print and sold at a discount. Very light ring wear and corner wear may be present.
Very Good +: Corners may be slightly bent and worn. Wear to seams may be present but not split. Light creases may be present. Moderate ring wear may be present.
Very Good: Cover may have partial seam splits, especially at the bottom or on the spine. Heavier ring wear will be apparent. Cover will show moderate wear, scuffs or scratches.
Good: Cover will show substantial wear, including seam splits, creases, heavy ring wear and substantial writing. May also have some tape repairs.
Vinyl Grading
Near Mint: Vinyl is nearly perfect. At most a light scuff may appear on the record, but it will play without any noise or skips
Very Good ++: Vinyl should still play with no skips of any kind. There can be some very minor surface scuffs or scratches, but they should not affect the sound quality.
Very Good+: There may be some surface noise and the vinyl will show wear, including surface scuffs and light scratches. Listening quality is still excellent with no deep scratches that cause skips.
Very Good: Vinyl shows substantial wear, but still plays OK. Surface noise will be present, including pops and clicks. Music should overpower any pops and clicks at higher volume.
Good: Vinyl has been well played and looks it. Record should still play through without skipping. Record will have substantial surface noise, pops and clicks. Loss of dynamic range may occur due to worn grooves.
