Description

Hi you are looking at a copy of a rare Thurston Moore (guitarist in Sonic Youth) boxset - 'Root' released on Lo Recordings in 1999.

Chances are, if you are looking at this auction then you know what this record is - if not:

This a 5 x 12" LP containing 37 remixes of guitar pieces that have been recorded by Moore especially for the project.

The remixes were done by the likes of Derek Bailey, Merzbow, Alec Empire, Luke Vibert, Blur, Add N to X, Third Eye Foundation and many other luminaries from both the indie and avant garde worlds.

This 5 x LP edition of the record is the limited edition format and has 37 tracks, whereas all other formats of the release had 25 tracks.

I would say this record's condition is probably 6 out of 10 for the sleeve as it has a dent in the top corner of the box (it was like this when I got from the record store, they had to order it in especially, and it would've been hard to get hold of another), and 8-9 out of 10 for the actual vinyl records. The original insert with extracts of the art exhibition relating to the release is present.

I will sell this record worldwide, however, I do not know how much it would cost to post it outside of the UK, so I will arrange that after the auction has ended, with the buyer covering the full cost of the postage.
