Blake played synths with Gong, Hawkwind, Steve Hillage and Clearlight amongst others, and his ethereal and spacey synthesizer expertise remains unparalleled to this day. The side-long title track is a masterpiece of other-dimensional, universally metaphysical, deeply moving bliss which outclasses similar excursions by Jarre, Tangerine Dream and others during this period (only Klaus Schulze could hold his own against Blake at this point). Bringing together visionary space lyrics grounded in English mysticism and musical textures drawn from rock and electronics, Blake delivers an album that is both celebratory and accomplished. Comprised of five tracks that create a sonic world pointing towards the utopian vision of poet William Blake (one of rock's most tapped lyrical sources)
