Cover: Non-laminated single cover, printed and made by Ernest J. Day & Co. Ltd. The front has a little light ringwear close to the opening edge, some rubbing adjacent to the spine and some very light wear on the bottom edge. The back is very clean and there are no seam splits. The spine shows shows some light wear, with all text clear and legible. Strictly graded as EX.

Inner Sleeve: Original plain, white paper inner sleeve with ‘PATENT APPLIED FOR’ and ‘MADE IN ENGLAND’ text printed in blue ink. The sleeve has discoloured slightly with age and there are two small tears (both 2cm long). However, all seams are intact.

Labels: Original red Elektra textured labels with silver text. Just a couple of light spindle trails on both sides.

Vinyl: Original heavyweight (164 grams) vinyl, which looks near-mint under normal lighting. Under a halogen light I see a few very fine sleeve removal marks, none of which affect playback. There is some background crackle here and there (which, given the sparse and delicate nature of the music is somewhat inevitable), but this isn’t loud or intrusive and does not detract from the music itself. There are no skips, ticks or pops. A totally enjoyable original with clear and distortion-free sound. If it wasn’t for the low-level surface noise, I would grade this as near-mint, so strictly graded as EX to EX+.
