The music on this album was spontaneously composed in real-time by David Tolley and Dure Dara in a 3 part performance series at the Universal Theatre, Melbourne titled:
Listen As Habit - Sept. 15 & 16
Be-Fore - Sept. 22 & 23
Lurching Spitting - Sept. 29 & 30
Each appearance comprised several extended compositions performed in quad and recorded live in stereo, direct from the mixing desk.
From these recordings, eight pieces were selected for mastering without overdubbing, as a document of the three weeks of performance.
During her performance of 'Chicken Shit' Dure Dare fondled, tore apart, cut, prepared and cooked a fresh chicken using a chopping board, meat cleaver, wok, sauces, bottled gas and a burner. At the end of the performance she fed the end result to the audience.
