Selected titles from the private collection of a music business veteran are now being made available for the first time. Titles offered by this Seller are one-owner and came directly from the pressing plant, record company warehouse, other label reps or record store unless otherwise noted. 

Grading is based on visual inspection.

Album ships in a 2 MIL poly cover sleeve and 2 MIL poly inner sleeve.

I package records outside the cover to avoid seam splits.

New and vintage vinyl is hard to grade strictly using eBay’s system because the record and the cover are two different components. Therefore, I call a record new and mint if it is opened but has never been played.  I use the grading category to describe the cover condition.

• This is an extremely rare copy. And why? Because this Promotional Copy was a First Pressing and a First Printing of the album cover that had '$8.98' hand printed on the record bin on the lower right front cover. It was removed on subsequent reprints. It is not visible in these photos. And what was that about you ask? TP got into a big fight with the label (which he eventually left) over the list price. MCA/Backstreet Records wanted to release it at $9.98 which was a new price point benchmark for superstar acts but TP said no. He won his point and as a little dig he snuck '$8.98' into the artwork and MCA didn't catch it until after it was released. 
• In addition, "We Love You J.L." is etched on the dead wax of the entire run of the First Pressing. That is a tribute to John Lennon who was murdered just before he was supposed to join TP in the studio.
• This Promotional Copy has never been played.
• The gold foil Promo stamp is upper left front cover.
• The glossy, single piece board cover has tight seams andshows no wear.
• The board inner sleeve has credits and photos. I have included a soft poly inner sleeve.
• The fold-out insert is 12"x 24".
• This little gem is a one-owner that the Seller got new from MCA (Backstreet's distributor) in 1981. It has been in storage for 36 years.
