Description
This was the first release anywhere in the world to carry the Beatles’ name. Because Tony was big in Germany the German version actually came out first in 1961, but they had stuck with the more familiar ‘Beat Brothers’ moniker for Tony Sheridan’s backing-band.
It was in this format that it first came to the attention of a certain Mr B. Epstein, who stocked a couple in his shop after some girls came asking for it. When he took the band over a couple of weeks later, he persuaded German Polydor to release it in England with a proper Beatles credit.
This is not a jukebox copy - this is the original first UK Single Release date: 5th January 1962
