Tony Sheridan/Beat Brothers/Beatles/OZ Polydor LP/63
Rare OZ LP entitled The Mersey Sound. The Album circa late 1963 early 1964 features German Polydor tracks from the early sixties. A small number (Of LP’s) were released here on the strength of the increasing popularity of the Beatles internationally in 1963/64.I have never seen another copy but this LP contains two tracks by Tony Sheridan and the Beat Brothers (Cover notes indicate McCartney and Harrison were members when these cuts were recorded)…..RUBY BABY/WHAT’D I SAY.I get the feeling this LP might have only been issued here (OZ)with this format, however please enlighten me should you have concrete proof to the contrary. Other Beatles & Tony Sheridan tracks; MY BONNIE/The SAINTS/CRY FOR A SHADOW. I personally have never seen The Beat Brothers tracks on anything else.
Vinyl Grade VG/VG+ ……….. Strong/Light surface marks/Nothing Deep.
Test Spin VG+/VG++ ………………..Strong/Plays unhindered/No Skips, Jumps/Light Background noise can be heard between tracks/Hint here and there during play BUT nothing intrusive. Fifty years on, the sound is quite polished.
Cover/Spine and Seams intact. Name RELPH to top rear flap. General light discolouration /Couple Creases/Small tear/Back Underside to Opening. Labels See Scan.
