Comments: With the pop charts having been somewhat less than memorable over the summer, The Beatles came to the rescue with the launch of their Apple label in September. As a result, the group's "Hey Jude" appears here, the first ever Apple record, as does its B-side, "Revolution". (Very few B-sides would ever feature in the Top of the Pops series.) And Apple's second single was also a smash hit, Mary Hopkin's "Those Were The Days" topping the UK charts.
