In the early 1960s, a series of party records were issued by Adam Magazine’s Fax record and book label.  Each record was usually marketed with two covers- one, with a cartoon or drawing, safe to display in a family record store, the other, cheesecake with topless models.  The latter came with removable adhesive stickers over the model’s more “interesting” anatomical features.  These were to be “stripped” off by the buyer.    

 Perhaps it is appropriate that I offer these as a pair: 

 Fax FX-6004, “The Erotic Delights of Lady C.,” from the text of “Lady Chatterly’s Lover.”  It is read by “the sultry-voiced Ilona.” “A most beautiful and brilliant musical score provides a lush background.”   The record is immaculate- appears unplayed.  There is a bit of ringwear and a slightly different colored rectangle where the censorship sticker was removed. There are a couple of tiny tears on the back cover and a small bump at the bottom fore edge.  Seams are intact but slightly worn.

 Fax FX-6022, “Part 2. The Ballad of Fanny Hill. An Original Musical Monodrama based on the book.  Julie Hamilton is Fanny Hill.  Music is by Gerald Coates.  Again, the record is immaculate and appears unplayed.  No sign of sticker removal.  There is a tiny tear at the bottom fore edge. The front bottom seam is exposed perhaps ¼.” The seams are a bit worn. There is a 2” square rippled area on the back top right where too much adhesive had originally been applied.    

The covers are bright, crisp and shiny.   Nice copies.
