Custom-Made 12-inch 78rpm RCA Victor Rehearsal Recording Arturo Toscanini and NBC Symphony Orchestra "Excerpt of 'The Rhine Journey' from Gotterdammerung" Toscanini and the Orchestra are heard during rehearsals for this recorded work Between musical excerpts, Toscanini is heard speaking to musicians and imitating instrument sounds as he'd like to hear them. Both sides have Test matrix numbers . . . Test matrices are pressed in the wax: T-2801-1 and T-2802-1 Label of first side has initial matrix number crossed out and Test matrix written in its place. Second side label states "With the compliments of John McKay NBC Press" Information type-written on both sides indicates a small, limited number would have been pressed (otherwise printed labels would probably have been produced). Record is pressed in Victrolac or early Vinylite/Vinyl material. About E- condition . . . Musical / Instrumental excerpts have strong excellent sound, spoken bits by Toscanini sound distant and are somewhat difficult to hear and understand. Date of recording ??
