Description
Delta Mama Blues is an original 1971 copy of the fourth album released by Townes Van Zandt on Poppy Records. It includes some of his most heralded songs including "Nothing" and "Rake" and reinforced the notion that Van Zandt was one of the premier singer songwriters of his generation. I received the album while working at a small AM radio station in southwest Virginia as program director. It was a promotional copy on Poppy Records and we stamped the label with the date that we had received it of October 12, 1970. Since it did not fit our programming format I added it to my own personal collection. It has only been played a few times in the last 50 years and is in near mint condition.
