Traffic 1st PRESS OZ LP Mr. Fantasy VG+ ’68 Blue Festival SFL933052 Psyche

Steve Winwood Spencer davis Group Jim Capaldi

Traffic

Mr. Fantasy

Original 1st Press OZ LP released in 1968 on Blue & Silver Festival Label. Cat: SFL933052.

This batch of LP’s are from a very recently acquired collection of all original late 60’s early 70’s pressing LP’s. There are around 200 albums I hope to list over the coming weeks some fantastic titles amongst them most over 45 years old!! I have hand cleaned and listened to every album and graded conservatively (as per usual) to give the most accurate grading I can. I hope you enjoy browsing or bidding on the titles as much as I have listening to them all.

Rehearsed and written at a cottage in the Berkshire countryside, Traffic's debut was former child prodigy Steve Winwood's first foray into headier territory after a stint playing R&B-fueled rock & roll with the Spencer Davis Group. Rounded out by drummer Jim Capaldi and multi-instrumentalists Chris Wood and Dave Mason, MR. FANTASY included experimentation with vaudeville-inspired numbers ("Berkshire Poppies"), flamenco-flavored fantasy ("Dealer”) & fantastic psyche in Paper sun. Winwood's inspired organ playing and soulful singing emerge on cuts like "Coloured Rain." In keeping with the band's unorthodox approach to composition and arrangement, "Giving To You" offers a funky groove sandwiched between tidbits of an overheard conversation about the relative merits of jazz.

Tracks: Paper sun/ Dealer/ Coloured rain/ Hole in my shoe/ No face, no name no number/ Heaven in your mind/ House for everyone/ Berkshire poppies/ Giving to you/ Smiling phases/ Dear Mr. Fantasy/ We’re a fade, you missed this.

There are a few light spindle marks on labels. Record has some light scuff marks and very light scratches that cause some light crackles throughout mostly noticeable between tracks and in quiter passages and is in VG++ condition. Gloss cover with back flaps has some ring wear, light age spots and light marks on back and a few tiny surface tears around edges and is in VG+ condition.

Payment is accepted by Paypal. Within Australia we also accept Direct deposit transfer and Australia Post Money Orders.

Wrapping method: All records are sent in stiff cardboard mailers then wrapped in brown paper and sealed around edges with brown packaging tape. Records are taken out of sleeve to avoid seam splits and ring wear.

Post methods within Australia: All records are posted via Australia Post. Within Australia all items come with a tracking number.

Post method for overseas: All parcels are sent via Australia Post and are sent on a standard airmail service. There are no tracking numbers on these items. If you require a tracking number the item will have to be sent as an insured item which incurs a further postage fee.
