Traffic: The Low Spark Of High-Heeled Boys - MFSL Near Mint

This is a Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab reissue of Traffic: The Low Spark of High-Heeled Boys.  Near Mint condition with only one play logged on this fine LP.

This copy is from my personal collection and as such has been treated with great care.  It is "like new" and nearly flawless.

I will grade both the cover and the LP as Near Mint because is has been opened and played once.

Track Listing:

1. Hidden Treasure
2. The Low Spark Of High-Heeled Boys
3. Light Up Or Leave Me Alone
4. Rock ‘N’ Roll Stew
5. Many Mile To A Freedom
6. Rainmaker

"Despite not even charting in the band's native England, this album became a platinum-selling American hit on the basis of three enduring FM radio staples--the expansive, jazzy impressionism of the near-12 minute title track, and the more straightforward funk of the R&B charmers "Light Up or Leave Me Alone" and "Rock & Roll Stew." Those disparate tracks perfectly underscore Traffic's rich musical appeal and its restless, sometimes problematic creative and interpersonal relationships. With now thrice-departed Dave Mason out of the mix and percussionists Jim Gordon and Reebop Kwaku Baah participating in the studio for the first time, the band's innate musicality truly takes wing. Winwood's familiar vocal phrasings nearly take a backseat to his fluid, dramatic guitar work on "Rock & Roll Stew Roll" and "Many a Mile to Freedom," while the Tull-ish, folk-madrigal sensibilities of "Hidden Treasure" and "Rainmaker" are further punctuated by Chris Wood's deft flute and woodwind flourishes. Compared with the more organic John Barleycorn album, the contrast is all the more remarkable. While many contemporary bands were experimenting with various attempts at fusion, few achieved this collection's rock-jazz-folk-R&B range or level of often subtle sophistication. Digitally remastered, this edition also contains the six-minute-plus U.S. single version of "Rock & Roll Stew, Parts 1 & 2" as a bonus track." --Jerry McCulley

As an additional service to the buyer after the auction is complete, and only at the request of the buyer, I am offering a cleaning on a Keith Monk's Ruby record cleaning machine, demagnitized using a Furutech DeMag LP Demagnetizer, and treating with a Furutech DeStat. The record cover will ship with a 6 mil poly sleeve protector.

General Information

This is a "no reserve" auction.

The item will be packaged using a high quality LP mailer measuring 14" x 14" x 1" with additional packaging material for protection during shipping. This LP mailer allows for a layer of bubble, an inner layer of cardboard, a cardboard surround, and an outer cardboard box.  For those familiar with the Music Matters mailers - this is the same.  They offer maximum protection for the LP and they are the best I have seen.

If you live in the US and prefer a less expensive shipping method I can use a standard LP mailer and small packet US air service or US ground service (at approximately $16.00) however, your LP would travel in a standard LP mailer and will not have tracking or insurance if you select this method of shipping.

The LPs will be shipped outside the LP jacket to prevent seam splits. I will put them inside a separate poly bag for additional protection.

Shipping is via Canada Post or UPS services although if you prefer FedEx or another shipper I will be happy to work with you.  All shipping costs are charged without any mark-up or additional fees.  No handling charges are applied.  The item will ship within one business day of payment received.

If purchasing from overseas I would strongly recommend Canada Post XpressPost service or UPS with tracking and insurance for items valued at $50.00 or more.  If you wish to have this service please let me know and I will quote shipping charges to your location.  Surface post is inexpensive however, to most overseas locations it takes quite some time to arrive and it is not trackable.

I strive for 100% positive feedback and take care both in my listings and in my dealings with buyers.  My items are not misrepresented and I do my best to be as accurate and complete as possible.

If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to email me.  I would be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Thanks for looking!
