“Rarer than hen’s teeth”, that’s what my friend Rick said when he handed me this beauty. I’m not going to disagree with him, because he worked for Island Records and he was very good at doing what he did which was radio promotion. This is another disc that I received at my last music industry luncheon. Following are a few of the points Rick gave me to back up his “rarer” claim. First: It is an original 1971 first pressing of Traffic’s, Island Records release “The Low Spark Of High Heeled Boys” catalogue # SW 9306 Second: it’s a bias cut jacket, as is the multi color Island logo inner paper sleeve. Third: The disc has never been played or even removed from its protective paper sleeve. Well I did remove the disc last night, so that no longer can be said, but let me tell you it was a tight fit having been together for thirty-nine years. I did it so I could photograph it for this listing. The vinyl surface is glossy and perfect. The pink rimmed Island labels are as sharp as the day they were heat pressed to the vinyl. The jacket has slight ring wear and the top and bottom seams are a little crooked but perfect. Selections: Hidden Treasure 4:16, The Low Spark Of High Heeled Boys 12:10, Light Up Or Leave Me Alone 5:00, Rock And Roll Stew 4:29 and Many A Mile to Freedom 7:30 and Rainmaker 7:39. In closing, after listing hundreds of LP’s here on eBay I would say that the best description I could give this LP would be, “Rarer then hen’s teeth”, thanks Rick.
