A RARE COPY IN EXCELLENT ALL ROUND CONDITION OF "TUBBS IN N.Y." FEATURING - HORACE PARLAN, PIANO, GEORGE DUVIVIER, BASS, DAVID BAILEY, DRUMS, CLARK TERRY, TRUMPET, EDDIE COSTA, VIBES AND TUBBY HAYES, TENOR SAX
HERE BELOW IS A BRIEF RUNDOWN OF THE CONDITION.....
THE COVER - FRONT IS VERY NICE AND GLOSSY, NO HANDWRITTEN NAMES OR WRINGWEAR. SLIGHT WEAR AROUND THE EDGES & AS YOU WILL SEE BY THESE PHOTO'S, ON THE TOP RIGHT & BOTTOM RIGHT CORNERS...ABOUT AN INCH OF SPLIT. THE BACK MATT COVER IS ABOUT 90% CORRECT, SLIGHT STORAGE AGE, ON THE FLIPBACKS. NOTHING TO DRASTIC THOUGH. NO HANDWRITTEN NAMES OR TEARS TO THE BACK, PRINT HAS NO FADE PERFECTLY INTACT SPINE AT THE SIDE & FULLY READABLE. THE COVER IS STORED IN A HEAVY PVC PROTECTOR, SO AS TO AVOID ANY MORE SPLITTING OF THE COVER OR ANY OTHER FORM OF DAMAGE. OUT OF 100% THIS WOULD RECIEVE 90%, NOT BAD AT ALL FOR A 1962 ORIGINAL.
THE BLACK & SILVER LABELS ON BOTH SIDES, HAVE MINIMAL SIGNS OF SPINDLE WEAR ABOUT 12 ON EACH SIDE. THESE ARE OUT OF 100% A 90% ALSO. NO HANDRITTEN NAMES OR FADE IN PRINT. NO RIPPING OR TEARS HERE EITHER. THE SPINDLE WEAR IS AROUND THE CENTRE PIN HOLES, THESE CAN ONLY BE SEEN AT AN ANGLE UNDER BRIGHT LIGHT.
THE ORIGINAL DUST INNER IS INTACT WITH NO SPLITS, PROTECTIVE POLY INNER INTACT ALSO, NO HEAVY HANDLING OF THE RECORD IN AND OUT OF THIS. A LITTLE FADE IN COLOUR OF THIS PLAIN WHITE. BRITISH PATENT NUMBERS 800513 & 973939.
THE RECORD ITSELF....
HAS NO CHIPS OR DINKS, SITS PERFECTLY 100% FLAT ON A SOLID SURFACE OR TURNTABLE. SIDE 1 LOOKS TO BE IN GREAT CONDITION VISUALY OUT OF 100% THIS WOULD BE A 95! NO SURFACE MARKS OR SCRATCHED MARKS. NO INGRAINED DUST TO EITHER SIDE. SIDE 2, HAS ALSO ALMOST THE SAME APPEARANCE, THIS RECORD WAS INSPECTED UNDER EXTREME BRIGHT HALOGEN BULBS & DAYLIGHT, SIDE 2 - TRACK 2, HAS ONLY THE SLIGHTEST OF WHAT LOOKS TO BE A STORAGE LINE (NOT A SCRATCH) THIS IS ONLY VISABLE AT A CERTAIN ANGLE & DOE'S NOT IMPARE ANY OF THE TRACKS AUDIO. A FEW WISPY HAIRLINE ARE VISABLE AGAIN ONLY UNDER A VERY BRIGHT LIGHT & AT AN ANGLE, CAUSED BY THE RECORD BEING TAKEN OUT & PUT BACK INTO THE DUST INNER. OUT OF 100% THIS RECIEVES A CONFIDENT 98% FOR LOOK.
THE AUDIO IS STILL CLEAR & CRISP, WITH NO POPS OR DISTORTION A FULL STEREO SOUND. VERY SMOOTH PLAY EXCELLENT ALL ROUND, WITH ONLY POSSIBLY THE SLIGHTEST OF BACKGROUND NOISE?? DEPENDS ON WHICH TYPE OF PICK-UP OR SYSTEM YOU ARE USING I SUPPOSE! BUT... WE WON'T GET INTO THAT HERE!
I WOULD GO AS FAR AS TO SAY, THIS IS NEAR MINT IN APPEARANCE & AUDIO IS PRETTY MUCH PERFECT. BUT WILL STICK WITH THE GRADE OF EX+.
PLEASE NOTE : I DO NOT OFFER ANY SHABBY VINYL. ALWAYS THE BEST THATS POSSIBLE. SO YOU SHOULD BE VERY PLEASED WITH THIS DESCRIPTION, UPON RECIPT OF SAID ITEM. A GREAT SHINE AND ORIGINAL GLOSS STILL REMAINS TO THIS VERY RARE RECORD.
NOTE: THIS NEEDS TO BE REGISTERED POST & WILL BE SENT, WITH THE RECORD OUTSIDE OF THE COVER, ALL CONTENTS INSIDE A POLYTHENE PROTECTOR. MAILED IN A CUSTOM MADE BOX MAILER.
PLEASE SEE THE METHOD OF POSTING IN THE BOX BELOW & SEE THE EXTRA LARGE CLOSE UP PHOTOGRAPHS OF THE ACTUAL ITEM TAKEN BY MYSELF. NO EFFECTS ADDED ITEM IS AS APPEARS.

>> Grading of Items All items are graded conservatively according to Record Collectors Grading System Record Collectors Grading system
Mint (M) The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet. booklet or poster are in perfect condiition. Records marked as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
Excellent (EX) The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
Very Good (VG) The record has obviously been played many times, but displayes no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any moajor defects is acceptable
Good (G) Te record has been played so much that the sound quality has notceably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc
Fair (F) The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
Poor (P) The record will not play properly due to scratched, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing Bad (B) The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler
CD's and CASSETTES As a general rule CD's and Cassettes either play perfectly - inwhich case they are in Mint condition - or they don't, in which case their value is minimal. Cassette tape is liable to deteriorate with age, even if it remains unplayed, so care should be taken when buying old tapes. CD's are difficult to grade visually; they can look perfect but actually be faulty, while in other cases they may appear damaged but still play perfectly. Cassette and CD inlays and booklets should be graded in the same way as record covers and sleeves. In general, the plastic containers for cassettes and CDs can easily be replaces if they are broken or scratched, but card covers and digipaks are subject to the same wear as record sleeves
