Description
Dave Lee 1965 UK LP Colpix PXL 550 mono **Jazz Improvisations Of Our Man Crichton** to give it its' full title.
Tubby Hayes guests on some tracks and this is a great copy of the album which looks unplayed to me but read on.
Lovely sleeve made of strong card with a laminated front which extends back over the spine and flipbacks thus protecting same. Shiny front and the plain rear is super clean which is unusual! Only thing I can say against is it has a hand written price (7/6d!) and a red line on the rear, the latter I presume for inventory purposes at the time.
Fabulous example which must have been kept untouched in a polythene sleeve over the decades. Surely it deserves at least 8.75 /10 for condition and only in deference to what age wear there is.
The flat and shiny vinyl reads 161g on the scale so is a nice slab of 1960's wax. Both the gold Colpix labels look minty to me and I really can't see any evidence at the virgin (I believe) holes of spindle traces to indicate this disc has ever mated with a needle. Further, under the evil and all-knowing table lamp I see only a minty vinyl with maybe a few inconsequential storage scuffs if you worked hard to find them.
Whatever, unplayed or played, the disc is so clean yet allowing for it's age I rate it 9 /10 for condition.
The original Pye advertising polythene lined inner sleeve is intact and feels clean to the touch with just some mild creasing and age browning to report by way of minor blemishes.
Because I reckon the disc is unplayed I'm not play testing it and no reason to really; the winning bidder can have the privilege.of the maiden spin.
99p start and the auction will run to the end.
