Description

For sale we have the 1956 Tempo first pressing LP of "Live at The Flamingo" catalogue number TAP6. The LP is considered to be very rare among enthusiasts and would make a welcome addition to the discerning Jazz listeners vinyl collection. It features some of Britain's top original modern jazzers in a blasting jam session from the mid 1950's. The album consists of mostly up-tempo blues, great soloing from Ronnie Scott and Harry Klein (saxes), a solid rhythm section in Terry Shannon (piano) and Tony Crombie (drums), plus guesting on two numbers, the marvellous Tubby Hayes on tenor sax. The Flamingo has become known all over the world as Britain's leading modernist club. It was a must for every visiting musician or fan from overseas. Just about every important American artist who has passed through town has looked in to listen, and in some instances, to play or sing.
The LP has been tested using a Linn LP12 reference turntable and is in good condition using the guide you will all be familiar with. The vinyl displays several marks, suggesting it has been played frequently. There are noticeable pops and clicks which would be expected with a record of this age, but the record does play through entirely with no jumps or distortion. The laminated flipback sleeve is in fair condition with several tears and creasing, therefore this album is being listed for sale as the record only. We WILL also include the sleeve though. The record has been professionally cleaned.
Postage will be recorded in the UK and we prefer to post overseas using 'International signed for' delivery. All of our records are sent out in strong record mailers with stiffeners and all that jazz to ensure it reaches you in the same condition it left us.
We are an independent record store in the North East of England and pride ourselves on our 100% feedback. Please check our other listings for more rare Jazz records.
