Description
A wonderfully strange pair of scarce early-1970s British 10-inch erotic spoken-word records, offered together.
Both come from the short-lived Sexual Rhapsody world of adult instructional and spoken-word recordings and make a fascinating little snapshot of changing British attitudes towards sex and sexual education in the early 1970s.
1. Tuppy Owens – Step by Step Instruction in Sexual Technique
Original 1972 UK 10-inch mono release featuring “Erotic instruction by Miss Tuppy Owens”.
Tuppy Owens went on to become a prominent British writer and campaigner for sexual freedom and sexual health, which gives this record considerably more historical interest than the average novelty spoken-word release.
The real attraction is the remarkable original illustrated sleeve, complete with the period warning “not for sale to children”.
2. Miranda & John – Queen Visits Your Bed / Under the Hypnotist
An even more obscure 10-inch spoken-word recording.
Side A: Queen Visits Your Bed
Side B: Under the Hypnotist
The labels carry the wonderful period warning “NOT FOR THE EARS OF CHILDREN”.
This copy retains its original plain card sleeve. Both labels have unfortunately had sections of the paper deliberately removed by a previous owner; the reason for this is unknown and the alteration is clearly visible in the photographs.
Taken together, these are a highly unusual pair of British spoken-word collectables from a very particular moment in early-1970s popular culture.
Two genuinely scarce records which belong together.

Vinyl: VG+. Light signs of use but clean and well cared for.
Sleeve: VG+. Original illustrated sleeve with light age-related handling and storage wear.
Miranda & John – Queen Visits Your Bed / Under the Hypnotist
Vinyl: VG. Clean overall with light signs of handling.
Labels: Both centre labels have been deliberately cut and partially removed by a previous owner. The reason is unknown and this is clearly shown in the photographs.
Sleeve: VG. Original plain card sleeve with light age-related marks, creasing and edge wear.
