Description
This is the mid-Seventies Coxsone repress (I think cut about 1974) of two great rocksteady tunes from a few years earlier. The A-side, which unusually has a stamped matrix (CS 017) is the great Joe Higgs' take on Horace Silver's "Come on Home" as vocalised by Lambert Hendricks and Ross - On the flip we have a semi-instrumental by Soul Vendors that again is a cover; originally by Tommy Roe, it was made into an instrumental by Manfred Mann, and that's the inspiration for this cut- To be fair, this is a pretty srtandard quality Seventies Studio One pressing, so the sound quality is far from pristine, but both sides play perfectly well, and I'd rate this as VG. It's not been turning up too often recently, so is on the rare side
