Description
Here are two really scarce early 1960's rock n roll 45 rpm records in nearly new condition, in their original tan paper sleeves. Floyd Dakil was a pioneer of the rock n roll movement in the USA. Based in Dallas, Texas, he pulled large crowds at his local gigs. In the early 1960's he broke out with a pretty big nationwide hit, "DANCE FRANNY DANCE" which has been re-issued in several early rock n roll compilations and is still being played on radio in some European countries. These two 45s were recorded and released in that same time period. They are:
EARTH Records 402 A&B "Bad Boy" b/w "Stoppin' Traffic".
EARTH Records 403 A&B "Kitty Kitty" b/w "It Takes A Lot Of Hurt".
On the record labels it shows the address: 2829 Rosedale, Dallas, Texas, which means it was a limited local pressing, making them much more scarcer today. This artist is sometimes known as The Floyd Dakil Combo and just Floyd Dakil. Floyd Dakil built up such a huge following that he got noticed and he and his lawyer were negotiating a contract with Columbia Records. The lawyer was holding out for everything, so much so that Columbia went silent and shortly aftrward signed, instead, Billy Joel. And the rest, as they say, is history.
These two 45s have not seen the light of day for over 40 years! They look and play as new. They have no groove wear. The labels are perfect, except for "It Takes A lot Of Hurt" which has some light ink smudges around the rim.
