Up for auction are a trio of rare U2 remixes. Both albums were my original copies before I tracked down mint versions of each. Clocking in at about 86 minutes, these 12 tracks provide a wide range of remix artists, styles and interpretations of these three classic U2 tracks.

First and foremost we have the Elevation/Beautiful Day 2x12" album. "Elevation" was the third single for ATYCLB, released in early June of 2001. This double vinyl split-single collected almost all the remixes for both "Elevation" and "Beautiful Day" to that point (with the exception of the "Biffco Mix" and "Tomb Raider Mix" of "Elevation" which were both available on the UK cardsleeve [CIDT780] and Australian [5886802] Elevation CD singles). Until the U2.com release of Artificial Horizon, the only other place to find the "David Holmes" remix of "Beautiful Day" was the Australian release of the Stuck In A Moment You Can't Get Out Of CD single [572 807-2]. This is one of the real highlights of this album to me; it's what U2 would sound like if they were an instrumental garage band. The "Perfecto Mix" is pure Oakenfold, so if you like his other remixes you will like this one too. The most adrenaline charged of the remixes is the "Quincey & Sonanace Mix" of "Beautiful Day" which is also available in other formats; their remix of "Elevation" is another one of my favorites, and it retains many of the elements of the original but with a much darker feel. The "Escalation Mix" only retains a few elements of the original song, but stands well on its own with a nice organic feel that is usually missing in many U2 remixes. The "Influx Remix" is another favorite which retains many elements of the original, and is another track with a nice organic feel (I even like the flute in this song, which is very rare for me). The "Vandit Club Mix" is my least favorite, with very little recognizable from the original song (I really wish they had included the "Biffco Mix" instead).

The vinyl here is near mint and without scratches, the only flaw is a very slight warping of the vinyl which does not affect playback in any way. The inner sleeves both have a slight crease in the top left corner near the catalog number (which didn't really show up in pictures, but which you can easily feel). There are also small tears to the bottom and medium tears to the sides were the vinyl tried to break through when it was initially shipped to me. Two areas keep the cover from being near mint. The first is a dent to the bottom right corner. The second is tearing along the top, again caused by the vinyl during shipping. Overall the records themselves are in great condition, and the damage to the sleeves and cover are purely cosmetic. [I will do a much better job than the individual who first shipped this album to me, and it will not arrive with any further damage.]

I'm also including in this auction the 12" single of Mofo with 5 remix versions of the song, which I was reluctant to sell on its own due to its condition (which I will describe in full detail). This 12" single includes 5 remixes from 3 artists. The best of the bunch is the "Romin Remix" which is only available here and on the If God Will Send His Angels cardsleeve CD single [CIDT684]. The two remixes by Matthew Roberts ("Phunk Phorce Mix" and "Black Hole Dub") are both good as well and retain the vocals from the original, as well as a few other elements. Lastly we have the Roni Size Remixes ("Mother's Mix" and "House Flavour Mix") which I don't really care for at all. I know this guy has fans, and he's certainly done a lot of remix work, but I've yet to hear one Roni Size remix I liked (just not my thing).

This LP showed a lot of wear when I bought it. One side of the sleeve has a large tear from the vinyl, the other side has a lot of creasing in the top corner around the perimeter of the record. The bottom also has some tearing from the vinyl. This record does not skip at all, but the record itself has a number of scratches, most of which do not affect the playback. The worst of the scratching is in the last 60 seconds of each side, but mainly the A Side. During the last minute of "Black Hole Dub" you can hear the scratches, and they are especially noticeable when you know they're not supposed to be there. For this reason I was never going to list this item individually.  The Buy It Now price is based solely on the Elevation/Beautiful Day double single, which is a great deal at $9.99, plus you get the Mofo single as a bonus.

Every Saturday between now and November 16 I will be listing a handful of new items. The first 3 Saturdays in November I will list my rare vinyl duplicates. Artists include Ryan Adams (California & Rescue Blues 2x7" and more), Thievery Corporation (The Richest Man In Babylon 4x12", 2001: Spliff Odyssey and more), some Zero 7, some U2 and others. I don't like to buy and won't sell vinyl during warm summer months. Remember, no matter how well someone packs a records, or how fast it ships, it only needs to be exposed to high temperatures or direct sunlight for a short time before it starts to warp.

If I overcharge on International Shipping I will refund the difference - I'm not trying to profit on shipping charges, I just want to make sure I get enough to cover the costs. Sometimes I am able to ship for almost half what I charged (I try to do this whenever possible - depends on how I package the items and the final weight/measurement of that package). If that happens, the difference gets refunded immediately after shipping. Always.

I now offer combined shipping on multiple items, even if they are packaged separately (during an 8 day period), giving you a week to wait for other auction items to end.
