U2 "The Joshua Tree Interview with Their Words & Music"
This is a US vinyl pressing on Island PR 2049 from 1987. This is a promo only album of interviews with Bono and The Edge and music from "The Joshua Tree" album. The record has white labels with black printing. It comes in a black Island 12" cover with a hole in the center, so you can see the labels. It has a title sticker on the front at top right. This did not come with a cue sheet. It has complete version of the songs.
This album was produced by Carter Alan from WBCN-FM radio in Boston.
The matrix numbers are hand etched : Side A : STPR-2047-A-1 1-1 and Side B : STPR-2049-B-1 1-1.
The answers to questions and songs are : Hi, I'm Carter Allen from WBCN radio in Boston. Now, Bono and The Edge talk about "The Joshua Tree". There are American folk songs that have something very Irish about them. I was talking to Dylan and he told me about listening backstage to Makem & Clancy. Song : "Where The Streets Have No Name". We were writing before The Amnesty Tour and we did a lot of demos. By January we had 30 songs. We used some on the double B-side idea. Brian Eno was a fan of Hank Williams. Daniel played in country bands. Song : "Trip Through Your Wires". Our humor shows through on stage. Our song "Trip Through Your Wires" is an antagonistic song with a 'wink'. Like a filmmaker, I am interested in violence. I hate it, but I'm interested in it. I see it in corporations. I just want to write about anything. As a band we don't get into the "Hay Ho, Let's Go' type of song. The new album is an uplifting record. I am 26 now. Song : "Running To Stand Still". Our singles are like a bonus. Song : "Exit". A lot of the songs are based in America : roots music. We are following in good foot steps. In the beginning we rejected rock & roll being played in Dublin by other bands. We wanted an original sound. Now we can learn from the blues and black poetry. We play 'People Get Ready' now. 'The Joshua Tree' is like an old Beatles album : a collection of songs. Song : "In God's Country". We recorded like Dylan : fast. Song : "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For". I want to be together, but I'm not. Adam is together. Song : "Red Hill Mining Town".
Overall Condition is : Cover is VG+ / Record is M
The cover is VG+, with no writing and no seam splits. There is light ring wear and a big saw cut at top left. The vinyl looks mint and it plays mint. The labels are clean with no spindle marks. The record comes in a plain white inner sleeve.

I started collecting records in 1966. I started selling records in Goldmine in 1985. I now sell records at all Northwest record conventions : Portland, Seattle, Tacoma, Olympia, Eugene, Grants Pass, and Canby. And at Crossroads Music in Portland, Oregon. On Discogs I am 'Fragilerecords'. My records are from a no smoking and no pets home. I am a record collector, not a DJ, so I almost never play my records.
Packaging :
I take great care on every package and I do each one personally. I will package this record between two pieces of hand cut cardboard. Each piece is 1/2 inch thick, triple strength industrial cardboard. Together they are very strong and unbendable. I always remove the record from the cover and seal them in a clear plastic sleeve. The package will be marked in red : "Fragile Record" on both sides.

You have to pay for the postage. I pre-weigh every package, so that you pay the exact amount the post office charges. There are NO handling charges. This record will weigh 24 ounces when ready to ship. US winners can choose between Media mail or Priority mail.
