Description

This is a first UK pressing of UB40’s debut “Signing Off” (Graduate Records GRADLP 2, 1980), which includes the complete album plus the bonus 12″ maxi single. The striking outer sleeve reproduces a British unemployment benefit card, and this copy shows very little handling wear or edge creasing and light discolouration but no major splits. Inside are two discs: the main 33 rpm LP features “Tyler,” “King,” “12 Bar” and “Burden of Shame” on Side One and “Adella,” “I Think It’s Going to Rain Today,” “25%,” “Food for Thought,” “Little by Little” and the title track on Side Two. The second 12″ disc spins at 45 rpm and contains “Madam Medusa,” “Strange Fruit” and “Reefer Madness.” Both records retain good gloss with some light surface marks; they play through with occasional static typical of a gently used set. Labels show light spindle wear. A complete, original package of a socially conscious reggae classic that blends dub, pop and rock influences.
