UFO - Phenomenon Rock 12" Black Vinyl LP Chrysalis 1974 CHR 1059
This is a highly sought-after, genuine 1974 UK first pressing of UFO’s legendary album Phenomenon on the Chrysalis label (CHR 1059). This is the famous, documented matrix error mis-press and misprint variant, making it a major holy grail for classic rock and vinyl collectors.
Side A Runout: CHR 1059 A-2U (Stamped)
Side B Runout: CHR 1059 B-2U (Stamped) / "KIP" etched in deadwax (Mastered by Bryan "Kip" Paschal)
KNOWN ERRORS ON THIS SPECIFIC FIRST PRESSING:
The Audio Track Swap (Mis-press): Due to a famous mastering plant error on the A-2U/B-2U pressings, Track 1 on Side A actually plays the song "Oh My", even though the sleeve and label state it should play "Too Young To No". The track order is completely flipped on the actual vinyl audio.
The Spelling Misprints:
The back sleeve lists Track 1 as "Too Young To No" (typo).
The Side A centre label "corrects" it to "Too Young To Know".
The Side B centre label repeats the typo as "Too Young To No".
Michael Schenker’s songwriting credit is misspelt as "Shenker" on the labels.
Vinyl: VG (Very Good). The vinyl retains a nice gloss but shows some visible surface marks, hairlines, and light scuffs under direct light. Note: I do not currently have a record deck to audio-test this copy, so it is being sold based on a strict visual grade only.
Sleeve: VG (Very Good). The original textured spine sleeve shows expected age-related wear, including some edge scuffs, corner rubbing, and light ring wear/creasing, but remains structurally solid with fully legible spine text. Centre labels are clean with minor spindle wear.
