Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. 5. Man were an underground rock band from Wales whose style is a mixture of American West Coast psychedelia, progressive rock, and blues.

8. In an effort to emphasize the serious nature of their music, British Pye records moved Man to their new Dawn label. Ironically, the album title is a flippant description of the physical make up of an LP record.

        Highlighted by the opening (12:18) track, "Prelude/The Storm" sounds a lot like something that may have been created by the early Pink Floyd on one of their better days. After this, the music moves on to the more dueling hard rock music that was to become the band's mainstay.
    
        Relying more and more on instrumental prowess, the opening "Prelude/The storm" is an ambitious scene setter with clear delusions of grandeur. Things continue to build towards a seemingly limitless crescendo before easing off to an altogether more relaxing, almost ambient phase. As we move into "It is as it must be" (originally to be titled "Shit on the world" till the record company took fright), we begin to uncover what would become the essence of the band. Here we have a heavy, bluesy guitar driven riff laden number with the first vocals of the album. Apart from that brief vocal excursion, the track is primarily an elongated jam featuring lead guitar nirvana.
    
        In another example of wonderful incompetence, the record company took exception to the title of the third track. It was therefore changed from "Spunk rock" to "Spunk box" (a record company employee misunderstood the instructions and changed the wrong word!), although the former title has prevailed over time. In view of the way this track has been extended and developed in the live arena, the version here may sound a little less intense. It remains though one of Man's signature numbers.

        In all, an album which sees Man starting to find a clear West Coast styled ballroom jam style injecting a impact hard guitar rock direction, while still experimenting with a few different styles= to mix things up but always an enjoyable excursion.

14. Man were one of the most promising rock bands to come out of Wales in the late 70's.
    
    Their first LP, Revelation, issued in 1969 on Pye, was a concept album that yielded a successful European single, "Erotica," which contained the sound of an orgasm and thus failed to chart in England.

This one, their second album, 2 Ozs. of Plastic with a Hole in the Middle, showed a slightly new direction for the band, with a nearly live-in-the-studio sound and more creative interplay between the guitars, that some critics compared to early Quicksilver Messenger Service and other West Coast bands. Deke Leonard, in particular, became the star of the group by popular acclaim. When their contract with Pye Records ended in 1969, the group signed with British United Artists-Liberty, with a new rhythm section consisting of Terry Williams on drums and vocals and Martin Ace playing bass. Their third album, Man, was a critical success, and their follow-up, 1971's Do You Like It Here, Are You Settling In, yielded several popular concert numbers.

18. In February 1972, the group appeared at the Greasy Truckers' Ball, a benefit concert held in London that was taped for posterity, alongside Hawkwind. Their performance was so impressive that United Artists encouraged them to do a full live album.

20. The result was MAN's "Live at the Padget Rooms, Penarth,"  the band's breakthrough album, even though it was originally released in a limited-edition pressing of 8,000 copies. The album became a much sought-after collector's item in England, and suddenly the group had the attention of most of the record-buying public.
