Description
This is my EX / EX copy of this RARE ORIGINAL UK PRESSING of FAIRFIELD PARLOUR's LP "HOME TO HOME", released in 1970 on the 'SWIRL' VERTIGO RECORDS label - 6360 001. The gatefold non-laminated sleeve is in great condition with very little visible sign of edge wear and no dreaded ring wear! The spine which is strong and readable has a couple of spots of colour loss and the bottom has lost a tiny line of colour as it folds around to become the front of the sleeve, but nothing to spoil the look of this great copy. It has been in a plastic sleeve since it fell into my hands many years ago! The inside of the gatefold is also perfect, so no problem there at all! The disc is in great shape with clean shiny vinyl and only the usual light withdrawl marks visible. A couple spindle marks on the otherwise perfect SWIRL labels reveal a few careful plays, and the record sounds great! GENERAL NOTE- The few seconds introduction to this record is usually where the audio problems lie - forced to use the medium of scratchy crackly old vinyl, why did the band decide to introduce this masterpiece with about 30 seconds of virtual silence, with incredibly quiet bells tingling? Also - being at the edge of the disc, there is often unwanted noise and dirt anyway! HOWEVER - this copy has the least noise I've ever heard and this is my 5th! If you have one of those new cleaning machines, you may be able to reduce it to nil! A GREAT COPY OF THIS HARD TO FIND 1970 CLASSIC with a nice, well looked after sleeve.
