Unique and rare 1sided acetate dubplate by an unknown artist or group. Morris Levy of Tico label infamy was the bossman behind this mysterious NYC based demo (the same Levy owned publisher behind Joe Bataan Ordinary Guy - Eddie Palmieri Live At Sing Sing - Harlem River Drive et al ;) Cool crossover sound. A mix of southern fried r&b and latin soul. The unusual intro of congas and blues piano is a touch misleading but when the Nuyorican rhythms kickoff midway, expect an El Barrio - Spanish Harlem style groove but with a blues twist too. Beautifully structured rhythms with afro cuban percussion, horn stabs, electric guitar and some vocal shouts in the last phase. Very interesting item for latin collectors (and also compilers, if unreleased). Never seen before! Fabulous, pop art inspired label design too
Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG
RECORD - strong VG+ regardless of any faint hairlines or faint small scuffs from storage / disc cut loud / item plays with background noises and also a few audible pops to the intro / some faint old residue from the original pressing process
SLEEVE - not graded - original generic factory sleeve has general wear / item from the archive of an important record label who had offices in Milan, hence the archive numbers, front and back
LABEL - still bright looking regardless of any natural age discoloration / some dirt marks from storage
After a 2 year gap, Pourquoi Moi Vintage is back :)
