Description
No, it's not the 1970 UK Track original but there again you would need deep pockets to buy a clean 'puppet' example. This listing is for a minty later pressing by Polydor Australia with the same UK issue number 2406 002 on sleeve, labels and machine etched matrix. Note the spelling of 'Gypsies' on the labels. Vinyl is the lighter variety being about 2mm thick.
To me there is no evidence of play at the spindle holes and sleeve, labels, disc etc. look great. Any wear is solely the result of storage and handling over time and consequently the album deserves a 9+ / 10 rating for condition.
So, a chance to get a super clean copy of the 'puppet' cover without not eating for a while. Although of modest value I have a soft spot for this particular LP within my large collection and will be sad to lose it but I need to pass the torch of collecting, appreciation and enjoyment on to others.
PS I know Jimi was ambidextrous but when did he ever play guitar right handed? I saw the Experience play at Olympia (I think), London in the late sixties and yes, was magic personified. It was before the days of seated arenas and I was standing near the front with eyes like saucers. Audience wasn't huge being an all night event or some such with other bands on alternate stages. And I remember he changed his Fender 'Strat for a black Gibson Les Paul and his psychedelic Flying V for some songs and it didn't look right! I also met him on the Kings Road, Chelsea in 1970.....just walking along on his own. I said something inane like 'Great work, Jimi!' and he just smiled. Very unassuming guy to the point of shyness. And I remember not long after the morning in September 1970 when the shock news came on the radio in the flat. That Saturday was a coldish, grey, depressing, empty kind of day in London which fit the mood. I was gutted. Gone too soon.
