WOW WHAT A FIND !!! This is a RARE ORIGINAL UNRELEASED DEMO ACETATE SINGLE, UK IMMEDIATE MUSIC ACETATE PRESSING - MOD / PSYCH ACETATE by DEL SHANNON of a BILLY NICHOLLS track from 1967, ORIGINAL UK UNRELEASED DEMO ACETATE PRESSING IN AMAZING CONDITION !!!
This is a RARE AND GREAT - MOD / PSYCH - UNRELEASED DEMO ACETATE single that I SUSPECT IS THE ONLY ONE IN EXISTENCE !!! This is the UNRELEASED 1967 - BACKING TRACK of the DEL SHANNON version of the BILLY NICHOLLS track “CUT AND COME AGAIN” from 1967, the story is that DEL SHANNON recorded this album for IMMEDIATE RECORDS, with ANDREW LOOG OLDHAM producing (the Rolling Stones manager and Head Honcho at Immediate Records), and ANDREW got DEL SHANNON to record this amazing version of the BILLY NICHOLLS written song (as BILLY NICHOLLS was a song writer signed to IMMEDIATE MUSIC), the album NEVER SAW the light of day because of poor singles sale, and the first time this track was released was by BILLY NICHOLLS himself in 1968 on his unreleased album “WOULD YOU BELIEVE” and the title changed to “COME AGAIN" !!! This is the AMAZING (in my humble opinion) FULL BAND BACKING TRACK, (as you can see the IMMEDIATE MUSIC labels were put on top of the original EMIDISC labels, but you can still clearly see them through and hand written on them it reads: “CUT AND COME AGAIN” and “BACKING TRACK”, this side was crossed out, but as you can hear from the clips included this did not affect the play that much. Later on in 1967 IMMEDIATE MUSIC cut the other side with the DUANE DEE - “BEFORE THE NEXT TEARDROP FALLS” track, which was released in the US on CAPITOL RECORDS, so IMMEDIATE MUSIC must have had the UK PUBLISHING right for this track, but it was NEVER RELEASED IN THE UK !!! This was an IMMEDIATE MUSIC PUBLISHING ACETATE (which I have bought the complete vinyl library from) !!!

The tracks are: DEL SHANNON / BILLY NICHOLLS - CUT AND COME AGAIN (BACKING TRACK) / DUANE DEE - BEFORE THE NEXT TEARDROP FALLS.
The ACETATE was pressed by IMMEDIATE RECORDS at the EMIDISC facilities with the IMMEDIATE LABELS added in 1967.
The condition of the ACETATE is in EX/EX+ on the DUANE DEE side and VG on the DEL SHANNON / BILLY NICHOLLS side (this side was marked out, but as you can hear it still plays brilliant with only mild crackle as ACETATES tend to have) !!!
AFTER A FEW PROBLEMS ALL ITEMS OVER £20.00 WILL HAVE TO BE SENT REGISTERED / INSURED AT AN EXTRA COST OF £1.50 (UK), £5.20 (REST OF THE WORLD) NO EXCEPTIONS !!!
