I went to a car boot sale not long ago and came across an interesting bunch of demos, acetates, test pressing and so on. After speaking with the guy for a bit he told me that he had recently completed a house clearance in West London of which included quite a big vinyl collection.
I discovered the guys name was "Arthur Pelteret" and he was actually a long time employee of the music industry and even released music himself. Arthur was originally from South Africa.
I have listed a number of rare/obscure/unique acetates and demos up for sale all from this collection.
This one is of particular interest as I believe it to be Joan Baez signing two unreleased tracks.
The first track "Babe I'm gonna leave you" is only available as a live version on one of Joan's live LP's. It was also famously covered by Led Zeppelin but I cant seem to find another version/release of this track by Joan anywhere on vinyl.
On this acetate is what I believe to be the studio version. Whether it's Joan herself signing is not confirmed but I have uploaded a sound clip for you to listen too, to me they definitely sound alike.
The B side is another popular folk track called " As She Moved Through The Fair". As far as I know this definitely hasn't been released by Joan.
A few of the demos/acetates have "Radio Caroline" written on them. I can't say for sure if they did come from Radio Caroline but I would assume so due to the previous owners career.
Be the first to own them and make sure you check my additional items for sale.
Good Luck!
