Description
Hello. My car needs a lot of work, so i have to sell one of my prized belongings to cover it - namely the first and only Maker Of High Grade Suites EP from Jack White's pre-White Stripes duo - The Upholsterers. If you're reading this you'll probably know all the dirt on this rare record - but it's unlikely you'll ever have seen one with such a low number. That's right, this is NUMBER SEVEN of the already ludicrously limited 133-only 'blood' copies of the release.
Yes, NUMBER SEVEN. Number seven - think about it, after jack and meg, and brian muldoon and maybe the odd record label copy/family giveaway, this would have been the next one!
So the story goes something like 1,000 initial copies were pressed, all with the five inserts (2 business cards, grindstone sample, Third Man sticker and Klomp card), but the first 133 had Jack White business cards 'altered' by the man himself with a red 'blood' design on the nail, and hand numbered ("7 of 133 blood") and signed on the rear with his own 'III' mark). So this is the seventh in that series of 133. Crazy. There is also a tri-fold poster which fits in showing a story of Jack and the other band member Brian doing a spot of upholstery in overalls.
I have owned the record for seven years and bought it, for a fairly high price, originally from eBay. I did not know what number i was bidding on when i bought it, so was pleased, as you can imagine, when this turned up! I have played it maybe twice but have largely been too scared to do anything with it save for think about it. But the time has come to sell, and i really don't want to. The sleeve and inserts are all fresh as daisies, and there is very very little spindle wear. The tracks are Apple Of My Eye (which Jack co-wrote - a stunner with an 'upholstery tool solo'!), I Ain't Superstitious and Pain (Gimme Sympathy). The last two tracks are covers. The record is dedicated to WE Klomp, Long Gone John, Steve Shaw and 'The Glass City 3'.
The record label is SFTRI, and the cat no. is SFTRI 611, matrix numbers SFTRI 611-A and SFTRI 611-B.
I will post this all over the world and it will be ridiculously well packed. If you want to add on anything for postage please feel free to contact me at the auction end to let me know precisely which postal service you would like. I have listed UK special delivery as a guide.
THE BORING BIT: This is a PAYPAL ONLY auction - no E-chekkues either as they are a right pain in the **** for sellers. Please do not bid without checking with me first if you are a zero feedbacker - or i will cancel your bid no questions asked. Please pay within two days - or don't bid. Best of luck with your bids, feel free to ask a question, and good luck! Don't buy cheap cars!
