Uriah Heep - Demons And Wizards LP - Bronze ILPS 9193
Original 1972 UK press
Mega rare 1ST PRESS of this, probably the best of all Uriah Heep's LPs, mixing progressive rock and acoustic touches with totally crunching heavy rock which outdoes Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin Sabbath and almost all of their contemporaries in my opinion!
Prices for this LP have shot up over the past few years as people have realised how rare this pressing really is;
Issued on Island subsidiary Bronze this copy features the original Island Records - ILPS catalogue number - this record was later issued with a BRN catalogue number, later reissues are relatively easy to find but first press copies like this one are extremely scarce
It is also confirmed as a very first pressing by its 1-U first pressing matrix stamp. It's widely known that first pressings generally have the best sound quality. The difference can vary depending on which record, and although all early Bronze pressings seem to be of decent quality, this is the absolutely finest pressing you can get.
Complete with lyric inner sleeve.
I played the disc to test and it sounds SUPERB - if you play this disc on a decent turntable and hi fi you will be totally blown away by the sound.
The Gatefold sleeve is in EXCELLENT condition, just has the slightest corner wear, but otherwise a fairly crisp copy - please see super size picture
The disc is also in EXCELLENT condition, it is a superb copy, with NEAR MINT AUDIO most of the way through, the only exceptions being some light crackle on the introduction to the first track on side 2, and to a much lesser extent on the first track on side 1. The disc has no scratches or marks with the exception of a very few 'sleeve removal' or insignificant marks you can see when you hold the disc up to a light and which do not affect the play in any way.
