This is the album that solidified Uriah Heep's reputation as a master of gothic-inflected heavy metal.
From short, sharp rock songs to lengthy, musically dense epics, Demons and Wizards finds Uriah Heep covering all the bases with style and power.
The album's approach is set with its lead-off track, "The Wizard": it starts as a simple acoustic tune but soon builds into a stately rocker that surges forth on a wall of sound built from thick guitar riffs, churchy organ, and operatic vocal harmonies.
Other highlights include "Traveller in Time," a fantasy-themed rocker built on thick wah-wah guitar riffs, and "Circle of Hands," a stately power ballad with a gospel-meets-heavy metal feel to it.
However, the top highlight of the album is the closing medley of "Paradise" and "The Spell": the first part of the medley starts in an acoustic folk mode and slowly adds layers of organ and electric guitar until it becomes a forceful slow-tempo rocker, while the second half is a punchy, organ-led rocker that includes an instrumental midsection where choral-style harmonies fortify a killer guitar solo from Mick Box.
All in all, Demons and Wizards works both as a showcase for Uriah Heep's instrumental firepower and an excellent display of their songwriting skills in a variety of hard rock styles and as a result, it is considered by many fans to be their finest hour

LABELS: The labels are CLEAN and BRIGHT with NO wear, NO writing and (a few very) light spindle traces only really evident when angled under a bright light
VINYL Visual: Both surfaces have their original DEEP, GLOSSY SHEEN and are practically UNMARKED (light sleeve removal hairlines only)
VINYL Audio: The audio is absolutely OUTSTANDING - CRYSTAL CLEAR, VERY STRONG, RICH and VIBRANT. TREMENDOUS LOUD CUT ON THIS FIRST PRESSING. There are NO scratches, NO sticks/jumps, barely any clicks or pops (really, hardly any) and NO surface noise. The album plays BEAUTIFULLY THROUGHOUT with SUPERB CLARITY, NO distortion and NO groove-wear (the record has seen light play only). Must be critically graded NEAR MINT for audio - SOUNDS STUNNING and NOT over-graded in ANY way as I use STRICT RECORD COLLECTOR grading standards (please refer to my feedback and 'about me' page). SUPERB COPY OF A TREMENDOUS LP
SLEEVE: The original gatefold cover is in EXCELLENT+ condition. Slight touch of ring wear to the back but otherwise CLEAN and FRESH with a nice CLEAR spine with ALL text fully legible. BEAUTIFUL CLEAN, CRISP SLEEVE. VERY FINE EXAMPLE
LYRIC INNER: The original card lyric inner is in EXCELLENT condition with NO splits. It is CLEAN and UNMARKED with just some light record impression and one or two minor creases. The LP will be posted in a new inner to avoid any 'knifing' damage to the original during transit
