Another from my personal collection! Purchased about 40 years ago stored in a case with the vinyl removed from the sleeve and cover! This is how I have always stored my records!  I have decided to list this awesome sounding original because I know how difficult it is to find these originals, let alone to find a copy that plays as good as this opt listed. This album is very rare and scarce like this. Also this is a very early original 1st UK pressing features the Earliest possible -1U and -1U matrix endings and The original Bronze labels (only 1st UK press) .  Absolutely stunning top audio on my systems! Graded at Near Mint through out!  Any interference is just light static heard perhapes in between tracks or quieter places, this could do with a contant cleaning before plays due to being stored in a case laying dormant for over 40 years. Try to find another original 1st UK issue like this! Genuine 43 years old!

The Original 1st UK issue un laminated gatefold cover does have some wear with age with light general wear only with age. Rubbing wear at the edges slight browning/fading and a scuff mark and ring wear noted at the rear of the cover. There are no splits or tears and no real creases graded at excellent in my opinion.

Fallen Angel is the 12th studio album by British rock band Uriah Heep, released in September 1978 by Bronze Records in the UK and Chrysalis Records in the US.




Fallen Angel only reached No. 186 in the US Billboard 200, but in Germany, the band were at the height of their popularity.


On this album, the band moved toward an AOR sound, as opposed to the progressive rock of previous albums.





The album was remastered and reissued by Castle Communications in 1997 with four bonus tracks, and again in 2004 in an expanded deluxe edition.





The album was originally released in a gatefold sleeve, opening vertically rather than the customary horizontal axis.




The lyrics were printed on the LP liner. The artwork was licensed from artist Chris Achilleos.







Achilleos's website lists the original artwork as missing. The same artist designed the cover for the Whitesnake album Lovehunter a year later.

The vinyl

This is the original 1st UK thick and heavier type of  vinyl (only early press) This is free of any warping and is perfectly flat on the turntable.! This vinyl is in beautiful condition. To be honest I struggle to even see a blemish on the playing surface. Any marks that could possibly be seen in strong light would be sleeve removal type only. Importantly there are no needle scratches or marks that would cause any loud constant clicks or pops. A real beauty looks barely played in my opinion. Rare to a 43 year old record!

The Audio

This was played on a top system at very loud volume prior to listing   The audio is cristal clear and vibrant with (no) distortion at all! This played through cristal clear and extremely vibrant throughout. Absolutely lovely!  I would class myself as highly critical please look at my completed listing of records that i have sold of this calaber and you will see that i normally get it right! The audio is graded at  near mint in my opinion. One of the most vibrant copies that I have heard of this pressing! Audio graded near mint as I heard it!

Points to note! This album has been stored in a case laying dormant for at least 43 years! A build up of dirt and dust over the years causes static ticks\crackle. A constant clean is recomended before each play. From my personal experiance this reduces static crackle and enhances the audio qaulity!

Please note! I always add this disclaimer! I have described the audio quality as honest and as I heard it. Although I never heard any major problems other than prevoiously described, Please allow for the odd light static crackle/ticks/pop here and there (not) consistant through out the audio! Please remember that this is a genuine 43 year old vinyl that would have originally have been played on a 43 year old system!


The labels

These are the oiriginal 1st UK issue Bronze labels, Just a few light spindle marks around the spindle hole to note,  This has obviously been played but barely ever been played in my personal opinion. The spindle hole is perfectly round and free of any wear.
 

The Record Sleeve

This is a plain white poly lined paper sleeve! The vinyl has been seperated from the sleeve! light browning/creases with age but no splits or tears.  Please note! An anti static liner was put in when I purchased this album many years ago, to protect the vinyl from the paper sleeve!

The Cover

This is the original 1st UK issued un laminated smooth finish gate fold cover with top opener. I would grade as excellent with light general wear and tear with age. Light edge rubbing noted only if looked for in my opinion. A slight sticker removal mark noted can just be seen at the rear of the cover together with some ring wear/rubbing noted at the rear. light browning/fading noted age related. There are no edge splits or tears no nasty handwriting. Strong and straight without any major creases worth noting. The spine is intact with light creasing but all text is readable. Overal a decent cover in my personal opinion. This is the original.
