Sweet Freedom is the sixth studio album released by British rock band Uriah Heep!!.

The original vinyl release was as a gatefold-sleeve, reproducing the lyrics within. There was also a central page with a photograph of each band member!!.

It was the first album of Uriah Heep's to be released by Warner Bros. Records in the USA and the 1st issue was released on Island records the Bronze label in the UK!! Featured the tri-fold thick card gatefold!! .

Arguably the best-known song from Sweet Freedom is "Stealin' ".

1. "Dreamer" (Thain, Box) – 3:41
2. "Stealin' " (Hensley) – 4:49
3. "One Day" (Hensley, Thain) – 2:47
4. "Sweet Freedom" (Hensley) – 6:37
5. "If I Had the Time" (Hensley) – 5:43
6. "Seven Stars" (Hensley) – 3:52
7. "Circus" (Thain, Box, Kerslake) – 2:44
8. "Pilgrim" (Hensley, Byron) – 7:10

The vinyl

On initial inspection this looks like new! Super glossy apearance and i can barely see a blemish! Only in very strong light could possibly be seen very (very) few surface marks that would only have been caused by removing from the sleeve None that have an adverse effect on the awesome audio that i heard at all! The vinyl lays perfectly flat on the turntable! Important note! This is the very thick and chunky type of vinyl only found on the earliest pressings!!!

The Audio

I have played this vinyl track for track prior to listing on a top system at very high volume! The audio is stunning very very rich deep basey feel cristal clear and vibrant through out with no signs of distortion or that this has been overplayed what so ever! (no) loud clicks, ticks or pops during the audio!!!!!! Please note!  It is all too easy to be critical about these 1970's pressings and it is so hard to find a lovely sounding vinyl like this one, I should know I have copies that look near mint and certainly do not produce the audio quality like this one on offer! Truely awesome seperation, great album! Points to note! This album has been stored in a case for at least 25 years and has been laying dormant! From my experiance, a build up of dirt and dust in the grooves causes static crackle\ticks. A constant clean before each play reduces this static and hence improves the audio quality! TOP! TOP! AUDIO ON ALL FREQUENCIES! THIS WILL BE HARD TO SURPASS! (NO) CLICKS OR POPS AND CERTAINLY (NO) SKIPS OR JUMPS!!looks and sounds barely ever played in my opinion! ONE OF THE BEST THAT I HAVE HEARD!!

Please note! I always addd this disclaimer! Please allow for the odd static tick\crackle (not) consistant throughout the audio! Please remwember that this is a 36 year old vinyl that would have originally been played on a 36 year old system! To be honest I have played this two times before listing and I never even heard a tick! This played like a new vinyl on my system!! From my experiance only the earliest pressings like this one produce the best\top audio!!!!!!

The Labels

Superbe condition very limited spider marks indicate that this has not been over played!  In my opinion barely ever played sounds awesome! look! you can still even see the plastic in the spindle holes!!!!(see photos) Please note! ''Manufactured and Distributed by Island Records'' are featured only early pressings!!!

The Record Sleeve

Plain white poly lined sleeve no splits or tares

The Cover

This is the original 1st press  ISLAND (LONDON) PRINTED unlaminated  TRI- THICK CARD gatefold cover! Although these earliest covers are prone to rubbing in my opinion this is  in absolutely superbe condition! (no) splits tares or nasty handwriting (no) real creases to talk of. All writinfg at the spine can be read! Please note! There is general  rubbing with age (highlighted in the photos in fact this doesn't seem as bad as it is in the photos) very common on these earliest covers! (later press covers were more durable and can be noted that they are not as thick and have a slightly more of a sheen although these are found in better condition and the print didn't ware as easily, they are not the original 1st press covers)  Please note! The rubbing does not detract from the fact that there is no storageware to mention in the form of bumps and marks the corners are super square and this is strong and straight! Very rarely found like this after 35 years! absolutely awesome for 36 years old! super square corners!!! TOP! EXAMPLE STRONG AND STRAIGHT VERY HARD TO FIND LIKE THIS!!
