Awesome top audio throughout! superbe condition!!A VERY VERY COLLECTABLE AND RARE EXAMPLE ON OF THE 1ST OFF THE PRESS -A1 -B1 MATRIX!!ONE OF THE BEST THAT I HAVE HEARD! THIS AUDIO WILL BE HARD TO SURPASS! TOP! TOP! Only two plays ever! The vinyl looks totally unplayed in my opinion! Unbeleivably rare 44 years old like this!

Sweet Freedom is the sixth studio album released by British rock band Uriah Heep!!.

The original vinyl release was as a gatefold-sleeve, reproducing the lyrics within.

There was also a central page with a photograph of each band member!!.

It was the first album of Uriah Heep's to be released by Warner Bros. Records in the USA and the 1st issue was released on Island records the Bronze label in the UK!!

Featured the tri-fold thick card gatefold!! .

Arguably the best-known song from Sweet Freedom is "Stealin' ".

Uriah Heep are an English rock band formed in London in 1969.

Twelve of the band's albums have made it to the UK Albums Chart (Return to Fantasy reached No. 7 in 1975) while of the fifteen Billboard 200 Uriah Heep albums Demons and Wizards was the most successful (#23, 1972).

In the late 1970s the band had massive success in Germany, where the "Lady in Black" single was a big hit.


Along with Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and Deep Purple, Uriah Heep had become one of the top rock bands in the early 1970s

The vinyl

On initial inspection this looks like new! Super glossy apearance and i can barely see a blemish! Only in very strong light could possibly be seen very (very) few surface marks/scuffs that would only have been caused by removing from the sleeve No audio sounding scratches or marks! None that have an adverse effect on the awesome audio that i heard at all! The vinyl lays perfectly flat on the turntable! Important note! This is the very thick and chunky type of vinyl only found on the earliest pressings!

The Audio

I have played this vinyl track for track prior to listing on a top system at very high volume! The audio is stunning very very rich deep basey feel cristal clear and vibrant through out with no signs of distortion or that this has been overplayed what so ever! (no) loud clicks,ticks or pops during the audio! Please note!  It is all too easy to be critical about these 1970's pressings and it is so hard to find a lovely sounding vinyl like this one, I should know I have copies that look near mint and certainly do not produce the audio quality like this one on offer! Truely awesome seperation, great album! Points to note! This album has been stored in a case for at least 40 years and has been laying dormant! From my experiance, a build up of dirt and dust in the grooves causes static crackle\ticks. A constant clean before each play reduces this static and hence improves the audio quality! TOP! TOP! NEAR MINT AUDIO ON ALL FREQUENCIES! THIS WILL BE HARD TO SURPASS! (NO) CLICKS OR POPS AND CERTAINLY (NO) SKIPS OR JUMPS!!  Looks and sounds barely ever played in my opinion!

Audio graded Near As Mint in my opinion!

ONE OF THE BEST THAT I HAVE HEARD! You will not find better!

Please note! I always add this disclaimer! Please allow for the odd static tick\crackle (not) consistant throughout the audio! Please remember that this is a 45 year old vinyl that would have originally been played on a 45 year old system! To be honest I have played this two times before listing and I never even heard a tick! This played like a new vinyl on my system!! From my experiance only the earliest pressings like this one produce the best\top audio!

Superbe condition No Visual spider marks indicate that this has barely ever been played at all and certainly not been over played!  Please note! ''Manufactured and Distributed by Island Records'' are featured only early pressings!!! 

The Record Sleeve

Plain white poly lined sleeve no splits or tares dated 1972 Light creasing with age only.

The Cover

This is the original 1st press  Robor Printed unlaminated  TRI- THICK CARD gatefold cover! Although these earliest covers are prone to rubbing in my opinion this is  in absolutely superbe condition! (no) splits tares or nasty handwriting (no) real nasty creases to talk of. Note: Light corner crease front top right hand corner to mention and not noticed unless looked for in my opinion! All writing at the spine can be read! Please note! Any rubbing is minimal in my opinion and very common on these earliest covers on the face and edges! Note: Slight vinyl impression at the rear. Very rarely found like this after all these years! absolutely awesome for 44 years old! super square corners!!! TOP! EXAMPLE STRONG AND STRAIGHT VERY HARD TO FIND LIKE THIS!! Cover graded better than excellent to excellent plus in my opinion!
