From my own personal collection I am pleased to offer a rare example of the brilliant debut blues/rock album by URIAH HEEP titled VERY 'EAVY VERY 'UMBLE, Catalogue Number 6360 006. This is a 1970 UK STEREO 1st PRESSING on the VERTIGO SWIRL RECORD LABEL, with a 1st issue laminated gatefold sleeve. Complete with the correct white poly-lined Vertigo Swirl inner sleeve with "04 70" date text.
[The Vertigo labels have the large swirl on Side B. The matrix numbers are the earliest 6360006 1Y//1 and 6360006 2Y//1].
The sleeve is in close to EX condition with only very light wear and a few laminate creases mostly near the edges. The front and back covers are unmarked and the spine is square and solid with perfect text. Overall it's a lovely sleeve.
The record is visually in between G and VG condition. It's a very solid pressing which retains a nice shine. It is a bit dished and has a small edge warp - but providing that it is seated on a felt turntable mat this shouldn't cause any problems (it plays fine on my Rega P5 with a tracking weight of 1.75g). Both sides display quite a few surface marks - some of which do sound as pops/clicks. The Vertigo Swirl labels are unmarked apart from the usual spindle traces near the centres. Despite it's visual appearance the record plays to a high standard with barely any discernable deterioration in sound quality. Apart from a few clicks as mentioned above, there is only occasional light surface sound which is never intrusive and does not interfere with the enjoyment of the music. If you are looking for a perfect copy - this is not the one for you. It is however, a rare original 1st press copy which plays to an acceptable standard.
PACKAGING & POSTAGE
LPs are posted in purpose-made mailers with plenty of stiffening. Records are packed outside of the outer sleeve in order to prevent seam-splits in transit.
