URIAH HEEP ''VERY 'EAVY VERY 'UMBLE'' (DEBUT ALBUM) 1st UK PRESSING CAT NO 6360 006 ON THE ORIGINAL 1ST PRESS VERTIGO SWIRL LABEL!! AWESOME AUDIO!! (NO) CLICKS OR POPS ORIGINAL SWIRL INNER SLEEVE AND 1ST PRESS GATEFOLD COVER!! EARLIEST PRESS TO FIND LOOK #1 #1 MATRIX (SO RARE IN ANY CONDITION)!!!!

This is from my personal collection! I have owned this album for at least 25 years! There is general light ware and tare. This, being the earliest ever of this press is rare in any condition to find. I normally only ever list albums very near pristine on this site  but the audio is truly awesome in my opinion! The 1st two original uriah heep albums are by far the rarest and most sought after to find!  To find these pressings with the earliest stampers #1 #1 like this!! And it is complete with the original swirl sleeve!!!!.!

Very 'eavy... Very 'umble is the debut album of British hard rock band Uriah Heep. It was released in the United States as Uriah Heep with alternate sleeve artwork, and with "Bird of Prey" in place of "Lucy Blues."

The album was generally panned by the mainstream critical press upon its release, although it has since been acknowledged as an early classic of the heavy metal genre. The most famous criticism came from Rolling Stone magazine reviewer Melissa Mills, who began her review, "If this group makes it I'll have to commit suicide. From the first note you know you don't want to hear any more."

The original vinyl release was a gatefold-sleeve, featuring David Byron on the front sleeve, almost unrecognisable beneath the cobwebs - a poignant image since his death in 1985.

The album was first released on the Vertigo label in the UK, as was the follow-up Salisbury (album), but both were quickly reissued by Bronze when the band signed to that label!!!. Please note! These original 1st pressings are very sought after and extreemely scarce to find!!!!

The vinyl

This is the original thicker and heavier type of vinyl only found on the earliest pressings! THIS LAYS PERFECTLY FLAT ON THE TURNTABLE!!! Visual inspection reveals just a few surface marks\scuffs\scratches. I can't see any deep needle scratches!

I have played this vinyl through track for track three times prior to listing on a top system at very loud volume! The audio is stunning this plays cristal clear and very very vibrant with (no) signs of any grooveware or distortion  that i heard! (Quite unbeleivable to find like this) Please note! There was just one place that produces some scuff noises in one place during the quiet part on the track 'Gipsy' and perhapes the odd pop or click here and there but (not) consistant throughout the audio!!! In my opinion nothing too bad that spoilt the overall awesome audio!!Even the very quiet track 'Come Away Melinda' sounds awesome with barely a crackle through out  quite unbeleivable to find like this!!!!!!!nothing in my opinion that spoilt the overall enjoyment of this awesome sounding album!! I heard  Amaizingly even between tracks it is silent without the usual crackles! This indicates that this hasn't been overplayed in my opinion!!(no) distortion during the audio and I was quite amazed!! AN AWESOME SOUNDING ALBUM ON ALL FREQUENCIES!! (very minimal interfearance) Please note! Any who know the records that I list would know that i am highly critical about the audio quality it is my main concern! THIS PLAYS TRULY AWESOME IN MY OPINION ! EARLIEST 1ST UK PRESS PRODUCE THE BEST AUDIO!!!!!  

The Labels

These are the original. (large) swirl on side B. vertigo swirl labels (only 1st uk press) in superbe condition! Spidering can be seen angled to the light minimal spindleware The hole is perfectly round!

The Record Sleeve

This is the original Vertigo Swirl Sleeve with amaizingly no side end splits! This becoming fragile with age with light general staining \fading  there is a tare at the die cut hole on one side only and a small number written at the top orner! This is the original!!!

The cover!

This is the original TOP OPENING 1ST UK PRESS VERTIGO GATEFOLD COVER!! (CORRECT FOR THIS PRESS) This is strong and straight with (no) splits or tares !! There is general light creasings to the laminate both front and rear and light general storageware to the corners! Fully laminated front still retains its gloss with light ringware can be seen angled to the light only at the rear and a small scuff mark, also at the front (top middle)! In general this is an superbe example of a rare 38 year old original!!!!! Square spine with light general storageware\ rubbing  inside the gatefold is superbe ! (no) nasty names written anywhere!! Rare to find example!!!
